The links on the left allow navigation to several pages that contain information about the observatory, its scientific capabilities, and other matters of interest.

Telescope and Instrument Capabilities: Details about the telescope design and function as well as information on the instrument designs, capabilities, and use are provided on the "SOFIA Overview", "SOFIA Telescope", and "1st Generation Instruments" pages.

Science Cases: This page contains links to the SOFIA "Science Vision" document as well as the SOFIA Design Reference Mission case studies.

Observing with SOFIA: Information on applying for observing time on SOFIA can be found under the "Proposal Calls" page. The page contains details about current and previous calls, which include observing handbooks and guidelines for designing observations. The Data Cycle System (DCS) provides tools for preparing observations and accessing science data.
