During meetings at NASA Ames Research Center in January, members of the SOFIA staff (see key below) from Ames and Dryden took a few minutes to commemorate the first open door flight test milestone. The first open door test flight occurred on December 19, 2009, flying from the Dryden Aircraft Operating Facility in Palmdale, Calif.
